Some of My Favourite Hairstyles!

Oh, the day I can succesfully reconstruct these hairstyles!

Side Twist Trendy and sleek, this sexy pony can easily be replicated by parting the hair and placing a cornrow on the top portion of the head finishing with a side fishtail.

Pompadour Pretty To get this doubled-knotted look, part hair from ear to ear and use add-ons to form two ponytails. Then, roll the top of the hair horizontally while the nape knot is coiled and wrapped vertically. Secure with bobby pins to hold in place. Spritz for shine.

The Benefits of My Hair Vitamins

Ofcourse, these aren't the only vitamins and supplements you can take for longer, stronger hair, but here I will be showing the benefits of the vitamins I take.

MSM

You may have heard about MSM. After all, its value as a "super nutrient" has generated some buzz over the past few years.
What is MSM?
Official MSM is Methylsulfonylmethane. Quite simply MSM is a food that comes from the ocean, is water soluble, and is not a drug, or a food additive. MSM is the 3rd largest ingredient found in the human body.
MSM is a natural form of organic sulfonyl sulfur compound that is found in the fluid of all living organisms. It is present in a variety of foods, including most fresh raw fruits and green vegetables, milk, meat, seafood, and some grains. It is also found in many common beverages such as milk, coffee and tea. It is, in essence, a pure white, odorless, essentially tasteless, water-soluble crystalline solid sulfur powder.
Why does MSM help with the development of longer and stronger hair? Various scientific studies have proven that MSM contributes a definite normalizing effect on body functions.
The sulfur normally provided to the body by MSM is required for healthy collagen and keratin which are essential for healthy hair, skin and nails. MSM also has proven antioxidant benefits which can disrupt or alter damaging chain reactions of lipid peroxidation in the cell membranes.
MSM is considered to be one of the safest substances in biology, similar in toxicity to water. MSM and its related compounds are the source of 85 percent of the sulfur found in all living organisms. Many researchers believe that sulfur is a sorely neglected mineral nutrient and plays an indispensable role in human nutrition.

Vitamin B6 - Prevents hair loss, helps create melanin, which gives hair its color. Food sources: Brewer's yeast, liver, whole grain cereals, vegetables, organ meats and egg yolk. Daily dose: 1.6 mg. Warnings: High doses can cause numbness in hands and feet.

My Regimen

CLEANSING

It's very simple.
I wash my hair twice a week with Ayurvedic Powders, and once a month, I use a Green Tea clarifying shampoo by Aubrey Organics.

These are the main powders that I have used. After I have finished my supply, I will be switching to just using Kalpi Tone as it contains a perfect blend of all the powders in one box
How I use Ayurvedic Powders

At first, I used them as a paste, but I had real problems getting the residue out of my hair and it caused some breakage, so I have chosen to strain the powder mixtures.

Step 1: Add boiling water to powder

Step 2: Mix and allow the mixture to sit for one hour

Step 3: Strain mixture through a stocking cap

Step 4: Rinse pre-oiled hair for about 5 minutes and pour mixture all over hair, concentrating on hair ends.

Step 5: Gently squeeze the hair to get rid of excess mixture, apply shower cap and leave on hair for one hour.

Step 6: Rinse hair, condition with any conditioner, then deep condition.

MOISTURISING

Twice a day with ORS Carrot Oil or Natural Unrefined Shea Butter. I then use Vatika Oil to seal the moisturiser. I especially concentrate 0n my ends.
CONDITIONING
I've read on hair forums that it's best to condition in sections/pliats and detangle while the hair is loaded with conditioner or wet. I have tried this and as I'm transitioning, this only causes breakage at the demarcation line. The hair is at it's weakest when it is wet!
I literally slather on any old conditioner all over the hair, concentrating on the ends and rinse it out immediately.
DEEP CONDITIONING
I usually do this (after every Ayurvedic wash) with a conditioning cap on for anything between an hour and a half to two hours.
I alternate between ORS Mayonnaise + 1 egg and a cheapie Coconut amd Almond conditioner mixed with Peppermint and Rosemary Oil.

BAGGYING

I do this every night with a shower cap, then roll the ends of the cap over the rim of my bonnet. It keeps my hair moisturised.
